Charles Pieper
Charles Pieper has held senior operating positions in both industry and private equity for over 30 years.
He was Vice Chairman of Alternative Investments and Managing Director of Credit Suisse within the Asset Management division, based on New York. During his 9-year career at Credit Suisse, he was responsible for Alternative Investments Global Joint Ventures and was a member of the Alternative Investment Management Committee.
Prior to joining Credit Suisse First Boston in 2004, he spent 2 years as an executive advisor to Boston Consulting Group and 5 years as an Operating Partner with Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (“CD&R”), a global private equity platform with a focus on operational improvement. He spearheaded CD&R’s European practice.
Prior to joining CD&R, Mr. Pieper spent 18 years at General Electric (GE), where he served as President and Chief Executive Offer of GE Japan; GE Korea; GE Taiwan; GE Medical Systems Asia; Yokogawa Medical Systems; GE Lighting Europe and GE Trading Co.
Mr. Pieper received a B.A. from Harvard College in 1969 and an M.B.A with distinction from the Harvard Business School in 1978. He served 5 years in the Navy, including service in Vietnam.
